Ordering Process
Step 1 – Choosing your Product, Pricing, and Samples 1. Find the product(s) you like and contact us at (800) 360-1788 or

2. Provide the dimensions for the opening that you are inquiring about.
3. We will complete a work order/contract and e-mail, fax or mail the document to you for your signature and collect a 50% deposit to start the manufacturing process.
4. Tell us your colors of interest and we will mail you those powder coat color samples and screen samples to confirm your choices while we are completing the picture and measuring process.
Step 2 – Photographs of the Opening You will need to take three pictures of the opening(s). 1. The first picture will be from outside of your home looking back at the opening taking a picture that captures the complete opening plus one foot all the way around the opening.
2. The second picture will be a closer shot at a 45 degree angle at the handle height to show the depth of the door jamb and the trim next to the jamb.
3. The third and final picture will be taken from a couple feet above the bottom threshold at a 45 degree angle showing the whole width of the door opening including underneath the threshold. (The third and final picture will not need to be taken for ordering a gate product.)
Step 3 – Taking Measurements Once we receive the three pictures we will mark them in the proper places by diagramming and writing instructions on the pictures showing you where and how you need to take these measurements. We will send these to you and after your review, we encourage you (if you need to) call us during this measuring process and we will gladly help walk you through the measuring of your opening(s). When you have completed taking all the measurements marked on your pictures, you may either return the measured pictures to us or you can call us and we will transfer your measurements to our copies over the phone.
Step 4 – The Final Documents After we receive your measurements, we will draft production sheets and send them back to you to sign-off on your measurements. After we receive the signed production measurement sheets back from you, we will send all signed documents to the production and engineering departments. The engineering department will draw your CAD drawing(s) and send it to you for your final signature in the design and measurement process and you will send the signed CAD drawing back to the engineering department. You will know what your order will look like in the CAD drawing before we cut any metal!
Typically we will manufacture your security screen door, gate or other fine product in 1 to 2 weeks or less and your iron entry door in 2 to 3 weeks or less. These lead times of course depends on our manufacturing demands. We collect the final payment when you pick up your ornamental iron from First Impression.
