What is a powder coat finish?
First, we do a phosphate wash that cleans the steel and removes any debris. Then the powder coat is electrostatically applied. The door frame, mounting frame, hardware, Z bar, hinges, and one-way screws are all on the bracket at the same time so it’s a consistent finish. After the powder coat is sprayed on, it is baked in an over for 20-25 minutes at 400+ degrees Farenheit. Then, we repeat the process of spraying the powder coat and baking it a second time, with the same duration and heat. This allows us to create a powder coat application that is 3 mm thick. Most of our competitors offer only a 1-2 mm thick powder coat application.
