Serving Those Who Served: Housing Support for Phoenix Female Vets

At First Impression Ironworks, we’ve made a commitment to find ways to help others who need some assistance in our surrounding community. This past month we were proud to collaborate with U.S. Vets Phoenix and Habitat for Humanity. This organization helps provide housing for local female veterans who need transition support in order to regain and maintain productive independence.

First Impression Ironworks is proud to support these organizations in their recent efforts to provide housing for five female vets. We helped by designing, building, and installing handcrafted Iron Security Doors at the home site. US Vet’s most recent build – and First Impressions contribution – ensured that these women not only have a roof over their heads but also feel safe in their home.

“It is a wish come true and it is an amazing opportunity for our veterans, our female veterans, and their families. It is a dream.”

– Michelle Jameson, Executive Director, U.S. Vets Phoenix.

About US Vets Phoenix:

With nearly 38,000 veterans experience homelessness in the United Stated, US Vets Phoenix has made it their mission to aid in the successful transition of military veterans and their families through the provision of housing, counseling, career development and comprehensive support. All veterans deserve an opportunity to live with dignity and independence. U.S. VETS Phoenix delivers on their promise to serve those who’ve served.

U.S. VETS – Phoenix has proudly served more than 10,000 veterans since 2001, providing housing, workforce development, and case management services. Habitat for Humanity in Phoenix is building new homes for veterans, specifically for women who have served our country.

First Impression Ironworks is proud to work with this organization and help provide safety in a home built to house five female vets. We designed, built, and installed two beautiful Arcadia Security Doors on the back patio US Vet’s most recent build to ensure that these women not only have a roof over their heads but also feel safe in their home as well.

“We really wanted to get involved with U.S. Vets after learning that earlier this year, two homes built to assist female veterans transitioning to civilian life were burglarized. With the help of U.S. Vets Phoenix Executive Director Jennifer Gewarges and our skilled team at First Impression Ironworks, we were able to donate and install two iron security doors for the residents of the Ashley White project in Phoenix AZ. We hope that this brings some sense of security to the families now living there.”

-Strat Kalamaris, VP of Operations, First Impression Ironworks

In addition to our support of local veterans, First Impression Ironworks is active supporting organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Feed My Starving Children, Midwest Food Bank, Backpacks for Kids, and Hope Packs.
