Design in Motion: The Fabrication Process at First Impression Ironworks – Part 2 of 3
As outlined in In Part 1 of this blog series, custom interior railings require a specialized level of collaboration and precision. It all starts with inspiration and a vision, but it is here in the fabrication shop where that vision truly begins to take shape.
Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at the First Impression Ironworks campus where raw materials meet unmatched craftsmanship.
Where the Magic Happens
From the moment we stepped into the fabrication floor, it was clear this is no ordinary workshop. Sparks flew as welders brought pieces to life, while artisans measured, cut, and assembled each element with care. This isn’t mass production. It’s metal artistry at its finest.
Each geometric shape in this mid-century modern inspired railing is individually measured, cut, and welded. Every angle is painstakingly crafted to align with the original design. Watching our talented team bring precision and passion to every weld was both humbling and inspiring.

The structure is now in place, and final fabrication is underway. The clean lines and modern forms of this mid-century design are already shining through, even before finishing and installation.
